Final planting in Woodlands this Saturday the 16th
Neighborhood volunteers were busy in December planting nearly 2000 seedlings of Oregon ash, maple, Western red cedar, and hemlock in Juanita Woodlands – replacing diseased Doug firs and providing species diversity to our local forest. We still have several hundred more seedlings to plant this winter and we’ve scheduled a final volunteer event for this coming Saturday, January 16, from 9am to 1pm.
Please come out and help us reforest the Woodlands. This is a great way to get outside, to do something tangible to help the neighborhood, and it’s a terrific family event. Dress warmly, wear sturdy shoes; we’ll have tools and even coffee and hot chocolate waiting for you. You can park on Holmes Point Drive, below the Fire Station. We’ll meet inside the Woodlands, in the Western section; follow the path from the Juanita Woodlands sign on Holmes Point Drive, about 50 yards south of the Fire Station.

Latest NewsDisplay your DCNA static cling label A static cling label printed with the DCNA logo was distributed in the Woodlands and Waterways newsletter mailed in December. You can apply the static cling to the inside of your car window, a window at home, or at your business. There is no adhesive on the label so it can be applied, removed, and moved easily. Displaying the label identifies you as a supporter of DCNA and proponent of the mission to preserve, protect, and restore the natural resources here in your neighborhood. |
